Ipswich Tidal Barrier

These works required an 'in' bathymetric survey to confirm the existing river bed levels. The existing silts were then dredged using a DGPS controlled 40te longreach excavator working form a Jackup barge and placed into a hopper barge before being taken to the quayside where the material was excavated form the barge using a 25te longreach excavator. Upon completion of the dredging works another survey was undertaken to confirm the correct levels had been achieved before the placement of the rock armour was completed. When the works were complete a final out survey was completed to confirm the rock armour had been installed to the correct levels.
